| Singer, Japanese, and Metric systems include a
great many classes of needles.
|
| For examples of classes, some common classes in
Singer system will include 16x257 (16 is class, 257 is sub-class), 135x5 (135 is class, 5
is sub-class), and 135x17 (135 is class, 17 is sub-class).
|
| For comparisons of systems and classes; Singer
system, class 16x257 is the same as Metric system, class 287WH, which is the same as
Japanese system, class DBx1.
|
| The great many "classes" of needles
under the Singer, Japanese, and Metric systems are often referred to as
"systems" nowadays.
Please do not confuse the contemporary interchanging of the words "system" and
"classes" with the different system categories in these charts. These charts are
just to compare sizes between systems.
